Jennings McCall provides the opportunity for seniors to enjoy both the benefits of living in a community environment and maintaining independence and privacy in their retirement apartment. Each apartment includes a kitchen, living room, one or two bedrooms, and spacious bathroom(s).

Residents receive a full complement of amenities and services including up to three delicious chef-prepared meals each day served in an elegant dining room, housekeeping with linen service, and maintenance services. No long-term lease is required, and utilities are included in the rent.

Residents enjoy life to its fullest every day through a variety of fitness, creative expression, cultural, intellectual, recreational, and community service activities that promote an active adult lifestyle. A wide selection of wellness and fitness programs, in-house movies, group outings, clubs, seasonal and holiday celebrations, as well as scheduled transportation to appointments and shopping choices are available.

Assisted Living

Each apartment includes a kitchenette, spacious bathroom, and living room area. Studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments are available.

Residents receive a full compliment of amenities and services, including housekeeping and maintenance services and three delicious chef-prepared meals each day served in a elegant dining room. Residents may invite family and friends to join them for meals. No long-term lease is required, and utilities are included in the rent.

To assure outstanding care for each resident, a personal service plan is created with residents, family and staff input. Because this plan focuses on the specific needs and preferences of the individual, the resident receives services that are truly beneficial. The goal of the Jennings McCall service plan is to promote health and quality of life for residents and peace of mind for their families.

Transitional Care

We are excited to announce a new forward thinking opportunity we will be offering. We now have a new section of our building that will be utilized for residents with cognitive changes. We will be implementing the Montessori model of care. The Montessori model is a new way to deliver care, which requires the caregiver to provide not only support to the individual, but also a supportive environment that will allow the individual to thrive. By embracing the Montessori principles and creating an environment filled with meaningful activities, roles, while providing environmental cueing, we will be creating an environment your loved one will thrive in. Our goal is to ensure that your loved one will be provide with the ability to provide meaningful contribution to their community, while being engaged in meaningful activities. The Montessori model is flexible, innovative and grounded in research.

This model will benefit your family members by providing them with activities that are focused on their needs and wants. They will be part of a smaller community, in which they can bond with and build lasting relationships. They will receive a more person centered style of care. We will be grounded upon the philosophy “what you do for me, you take away from me.” Your loved one will have the opportunity to participate in their community in different ways, whether that means helping lead activities, setting up the dining area or folding laundry. It is up to your loved one and what they will benefit from the most. Independence will be highly encouraged and cuing will be provided when needed. We will work to provide your loved one with experiences that they will connect with, for example if they enjoyed gardening we will work on incorporating activities that will involve gardening.

Memory Care

We are proud to say that we use a Montessori Method of care in our memory care. We offer a unique setting that takes into account the whole individual. The team works on enabling each individual to be as independent as possible, while creating a sense of community. Every individual is unique and our team understands that, that is why not every solution will work for everyone. We strive to ensure that our residents thrive and not just live everyday life. We strive to create a community of individuals that can create friendships, goals and are that well connected with the world beyond our doors.

What is the Montessori Method?

Montessori for Dementia is a model of care, a new way to deliver care which requires us to change all we thought we knew about dementia and providing care for people living with dementia. Montessori for dementia focuses on supporting both the person and the environment which is adapted to support memory loss and independence. We are unable to change the terrible effects of dementia but by embracing Montessori principles and implementing environmental adaption’s (including meaningful activities, roles and environmental cueing) we can circumvent the dementia. The result is that people living with dementia are able to make meaningful contributions to their community, engage in meaningful activities in addition to having the opportunity to maintain, and even restore function. The approach is flexible, innovative and grounded in research.

Respite Care

Jennings McCall is proud to offer the availability of Respite Care. Respite Care can give a caregiver some much-needed rest and can also be a good alternative to someone as they recuperate from an illness or surgery and are not able to stay home alone.

A furnished apartment is provided with meals, housekeeping and 24-hour caregiving services. A Registered Nurse is on-site seven days a week. A person can stay under Respite Care for a week, two weeks or an indefinite amount of time with a one week minimum stay. If you or a loved one are considering a move to assisted living, Respite Care can also be a good way of becoming more familiar with a senior community.
